The south was pressed because they wanted to keep slavery and Abe was against it...

Lincoln's antislavery views threatened the slavery-based plantations in the South.

As you know(or probably don't) the south was for slavery, they felt the need to have slaves to do everything for them and Abraham Lincoln was against slavery so they rebelled against him.
