Hemingway's limited use of adjectives leads to a both broader and a deeper understanding of the text. Broader in the terms that it is more easily approached by the common reader due to his minimalist style, and deeper in the sense that he doesn't use adjectives to describe people, he uses their opinions and discussions and thoughts to help us understand better who they are on our own. We are not just given a description, we create one on our own.
