Let the integers are x and x+1 .

It is given that there sum is 189 . It means

[tex] x+x+1 = 189 [/tex]

Combining like terms of the left side

[tex] 2x+1 = 189 [/tex]

Subtracting 1 from both sides

[tex] 2x = 188 [/tex]

Dividing both sides by 2

[tex] x = 94 [/tex]

So the numbers are 94 and 95 .
