What is x^4-10x^2+9 simplified

That would be

(x^2 - 9(x^2 - 1)

we get -9 and -1 because -9*-1 gives the last number + 9 and -1 + -9  gives the -10x

(x^-6)(x^11)
since the base is the same you can add the indices of the base since its multiplying


therefore the answer is x^5
