you distribute -6 into the x equal -24 add into -40 get negative sixteen and should equal to negative 2

step 1)  4(-6)+8y= -40

step 2)  -24+8y= -40

step 3)  8y= -16

step 4) divide -16 by 8

answer = y= -2
