Exothermic. 

This is because the prefix "exo" means the energy is released into the surroundings during the reaction. As is obvious by the power of an explosion, energy is released during whatever reaction caused it. 

An endothermic reaction is one in which the reaction absorbs energy from it's surroundings. Usually the temperature around an endothermic reaction drops.
