The difference in ASCII value between 'e' and 'a' is that the 'e' has a code 101, and 'a' has a code 97. You can try to print this letters by holding 'alt' button and while you holding it, input 97 or 101 or your numpad. Don't forget to activate it by pressing NumLock button.
