4l+8m=40 please. Trying to solve for l and m

Divide 4 by both side
I + 2m = 10
Divide by 2
1/2 i + m = 5
we can see that I is 4 and m is 3
If we substitute it in the equation
4 (4) + 8 (3) = 40
16 + 24 = 40
