So first you need to expand 9(k-2/3) where you would multiple 9 by everything inside the brackets. 9 x k = 9k and 9 x -2/3 = -6 so it'd become
0=9k-6+33 then add together 6 and 33
0=9k+39 then moves k to the other side
-9k=39 and then divide both sides by -9
k= -39/9 which you could simplify to -13/3
k=-13/3
