1) Factor out the common term g
g(mx+1)=m

2) Divide both sides by g
mx+1=\frac{m}{g}

3) Subtract 1 from both sides
mx=\frac{m}{g}-1

4) Divide both sides by m
x=\frac{\frac{m}{g}-1}{m}
