The crusades introduced Europeans to the Muslim world. This increased trade as Europeans began to desire new products from Asia. This trade and the resulting economic prosperity created the end of feudalism in Europe. The crusades also helped unite Muslim kingdoms by defeating their main rival the Byzantine Empire.
