Due to a downturn in the economy, the company that had 250 workers had to lay off 75. Find the percent decrease.

Answer: 30% decrease.

Firstly, 250 - 75 = 175.

decrease = -100 x (175 - 250) / 250.

-100 x (175 - 250) / 250 = 30
