Area of square:

Side = Width of the octagon = 10 cm

Area = side * side

       = 10 * 10

      = 100 cm²

Area of triangle:

Base =  2cm

height =  2 cm

        =[tex]\frac{1}{2}*2*2[/tex]

       = 2  cm²

Area of octagon = 100 - 2 =  98  cm²
