Aubrey is putting flooring in a room that is 13 feet long and 10 feet wide. The flooring costs ​$4.00 per square foot. How much will the flooring for the room​ cost?

Explanation: We can tell that this is an area problem from the mention of the square foot and from the simple fact that only area would cover the whole room.

The floor is a rectangle and the formula for area of a rectangle is A=lw.
