6x^2 + 12x – 7 = 0

Use the quadratic formula:

[tex]x= \frac{-b +/- \sqrt{b^2 -4ac} }{2a} [/tex]

[tex] \frac{-12+/- \sqrt{ 12^{2} -4(6)(-7)} }{12} = \frac{-12+/-17.66}{12} [/tex]

x = 0.47 and x = -2.47
