• Horrible filthy life/work conditions
• Children and adults were forced to work almost a full 12 or more hours without eating or drinking
• They had to stand for long periods of time and work for minimal pay while upper class did little effort for high wages
• The poor were taxed immensely, and the industrial revolution was a result of urbanization
