Well the way I multiply bigger numbers is like this...

43 x 42

43

42

3 times 2 equals six

then 4 times 2 is 8

then add your zero place

then 4 times 3

and then 4 times 4

Or..something like this.

You might want to start by lining your numbers up vertically , bigger number on top
