f(x)= -8x+4 to find the inverse replace f(x) with y and solve for x

y= -8x +4

y-4=-8x

x= - (y-4)/8

So you replace now x with f^-1(x) and y with x to get the answer:

f^-1(x)= - (x-4)/8
