If you would like to simplify this equation, the only thing that you can do is simplify the radical. 

[tex] \sqrt{18} [/tex] = [tex] \sqrt{3 * 3 * 2} [/tex]

Since 3 appears twice, we can factor it out of the radical. This gives us our answer of:

[tex] \frac{6 ± 3\sqrt{2}}{2} [/tex]
