Divide 12 by 10.

12/10= 1.2 

1 pound of candy costs 1.2 dollars.

You have to do a cross product!

10 pounds —> 12$
1 pound —> X$

(12 • 1) / 10 —> 12 / 10 = 1,20$

So 1 pound of candy costs 1,20$! :)
