[tex]12=4x-6y \\ -4x -4x \\ 12-4x=-6y \\ /-6 /-6 \\ -2+ \frac{2}{3}x=y [/tex]
therefore the slope of the line is [tex] \frac{2}{3} [/tex]

so first you put it into slope intercept form (y=mx+b m=slope)

so
12=4x-6y
add 6y to both sides
12+6y=4x
subtract 12 from both sides
6y=4x-12
divide both sides by 6
y=2/3x-2
slope is 2/3
